On 13th May, the Chakma ethnic people participated in a cultural programme held at Bordumsa in Assam, bordering Arunachal Pradesh, on the occasion of “Rangali Bihu Sanmilan 2018”.
The programme was intended to bring together all the ethnic communities living along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border into one cultural platform for peaceful co-existence.
“The Chakma cultural team presented its colourful traditional dance which was cheered loudly by the crowd and greatly appreciated by the organizers”, a member of the Chakma cultural team told The Kamalanagar Times.
Thereafter, a cultural rally was held in which different ethnic communities participated, dressed in their own traditional attire and marched to the tunes of traditional songs.
