Arunachal Pradesh: Body of Chakma youth, who drowned in Noa Dihing river, found

The body of one of the two Chakma boys who were feared drowned while crossing the Noa Dihing river in Diyun in Arunachal Pradesh, has been found this morning, according to information received from the local people.

Sunil Chakma’s dead body was recovered at Udoipur ghat during search by the villagers this morning. He is the son of Krishna Moni Chakma of Rajnagar under Diyun Circle, Changlang district.

Sunil and his friend Mongal Jyoti Chakma, s/o Montu Moni Chakma, went missing on the night of 10th May while returning home from Jairampur. They were said to be crossing the river near the Jyotipur ghat side.

Frantic searches were immediately launched by the villagers down the stream and their bags were recovered near Modoideep ghat.

The search for Mongal Jyoti Chakma is still going on, sources said.
