Counting of votes for the CADC elections is reportedly over.
Final tally stands as: MNF-7, BJP-6, and Congress – 6. All parties are almost EQUAL!
However, official final tally is still awaited.
Voting was held on 20th April for 19 of 20 seats. Fultuli seat has been stayed by High Court.
A party needs 11 to form government.
It is therefore a hung house. CADC received a fractured mandate which will be interesting to see how alliance will be formed.
Highlights of the results:
MNF CADC District President, Rashik Mohan Chakma has won from prestigious Boraponsury I by defeating Hemanta Larma of BJP.
BJP CADC district president Shanti Jivan Chakma won from Chotapansury seat.
BJP state vice president and former minister Nirupam Chakma faced defeat from MNF candidate Amaresh Chakma from Kamalanagar South.
Outgoing CEM, Amit Kumar Chakma of Congress won from Rengkasya seats.
MNF’s Dhurjya Dhan Chakma won by defeating Congress heavyweight Porimal Chakma from Kamalanagar North.
