India’s Assam Rifles play heroic role in Myanmar village fire

The Assam Rifles personnel extended help to Myanmar Army to douse the fire after a massive fire broke out on 16th April in Rikhawdhar market of Myanmar.

The market is opposite of Zokhawthar village in Champhai district of Mizoram.

The Assam Rifles guard the borders along the India-Myanmar.

The fire reportedly broke out from a petrol shop and within minutes engulfed other houses. According to reports, at least houses were gutted by the fire before it was brought under control by fire fighters from Myanmar side. But no lose of human lives has been reported.

The Assam Rifles said its jawans also provided relief, rescue and medical aid along with the Myanmar Army troops.
