Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla on 17th April urged the voters to re-elect the Congress party in the upcoming elections in Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) to be held on 20th April.
He arrived at Kamalanagar, the CADC headquarters accompanied by his wife, Lal Riliani; Zodintluanga, Minister of Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation; Vanlalawmpuii Chawngthu, Minister of State for Cooperation, Sericulture & Fisheries and other party leaders.
Lal Thanhawla reportedly said the CADC has undertaken and achieved many development projects during the Congress rule and called upon the voters to install Congress government once again to witness all-round development and welfare of the Chakmas and other communities in CADC.
CADC elections will be held on 20th April and results will be declared on 24th April.
BJP, Congress and MNF are the parties vying against each other. A total of 65 candidates, including 8 independents are contesting the elections this year.
