Prominent Congress leader and former CADC Chief Executive Member (CEM) Kali Kumar Tongchangya has won his Fultuli Constituency seat uncontested in the Member of District Council (MDC) elections in the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) in Mizoram.
However, the result is yet to be announced officially.
According to sources, his opponent from the Mizo National Front (MNF) party Samir Tongchangya was disqualified during the scrutiny of his nomination papers on 5th April.
It is learnt that MNF candidate was disqualified as his proposer was a government employee which is prohibited under election laws.
The BJP did not field any candidate in Fultuli seat in the tri-party contest.
The general elections to the CADC will be held on 20th April and counting of votes will take place on 24th April.
