Superstar Salman Khan gets 5 years jail for killing blackbucks in 1998

A Jodhpur court on Thursday convicted famed Bollywood actor Salman Khan and sentenced to 5 years jail for killing two protected blackbucks in Jodhpur, Rajasthan while shooting film “Hum Saath Saath Hain” in 1998.

However, the court acquitted other accused – Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari.

Salman Khan has been convicted under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, which carries maximum punishment of six years.

The actor’s lawyers will now approach the Rajasthan High Court for bail in the case.
