The regional party, the Mizo National Front or MNF on Wednesday declared its list of candidates for the 10th General Elections in Chakma Autonomous District Council in Lawngtlai district of Mizoram.
The BJP and the Congress have already announced their candidates.
The CADC elections will be held on 20th April and results will be declared on 24th April.
Thus far, the MDC elections in the CADC has been two-party elections involving the Mizo National Front (MNF) and national party, the Congress or INC. However, this time, the Chakma Council will witness tri-party contest due to entry of the BJP.
The BJP has been spirited by the historic win in the neighbouring state of Tripura.
On the other hand, the Congress leaders expressed confident of retaining the Chakma Council. The MNF and the BJP on their parts are hoping to cash in on the anti-incumbency factor and the recent dismissal of the Congress-ruled CADC government by the Mizoram Governor due to alleged mismanagement.
