On 2nd April 2018, the Indian National Congress, or simply Congress party, announced its official list of candidates for the 10th General Elections in Chakma Autonomous District Council in Lawngtlai district of Mizoram.
The CADC elections will be held on 20th April and results will be declared on 24th April.
Thus far, the MDC elections in the CADC has been two-party elections involving the Mizo National Front (MNF) and the Congress. However, this time, the Chakma Council will witness tri-party contest due to entry of the BJP, a national party.
The BJP has already declared its candidates on 29th March. Its State Vice President and former Minister Mr Nirupam Chakma is contesting MDC elections from Kamalanagar South constituency.
The MNF is yet to declare its candidates.
